His humble beginnings started at age 5 working in his family's garden center. He enjoyed this hard work in the family business until the age of 18 when in 1996 he, his father, and brother started a design/build company, TimberRock Landscaping.
In 2011, After 15 years with TimberRock, his heart yearned for more, so he parted ways to start his first independent company. Today with over 25 years of experience in the hardscape industry he always brings something new to the table. His passion for the industry comes from seeing projects come to life while sharing the excitement of seeing their dreams come true.
While growing up in the family business, he was always encouraged to get life/work experience outside of Bahler Brothers. Josh holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting from Central Connecticut University which opened opportunities at a tax firm. After experience in the accounting field, Josh still knew where his heart's passion laid. It was time to make one of the best decisions to follow his full potential and love for hardscaping.
Josh is a loving father to four kids and husband to a beautiful wife. His main hobbies include hunting and mountain biking.
"When we all share best practices, we can learn from each other to bring our work to the next level. It's a win-win solution!"
Tom Bahler
My name is Tom Bahler. I'm 57 years old and the three major passions in my life are My faith in God, My beautiful wife and four children (and three Daughter in-laws and looking forward to being a grandfather!) and, finally my work in the Hardscape and Landscape industry at Bahler Brothers.
I am a graduate of South Winder High School and received an Associate Degree from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture in the Landscape Operation program.
I started at the age of 17 in the landscape industry and then moved onto opening Bahler Brothers Inc. along with my 3 brothers in 1985.
My love for the industry has grown tremendously over the past 3 and a half decades. Over the past 38 years our company road the “Wave / Trend” of the Hardscape industry and have also expanded into a full Landscape Design/Build Company as the “Outdoor Living” continues to grow! We have seen almost all of the trends and ideas that the hardscape industry has faced (both good and bad) and have experienced growth and recession and everything in between.
Through the years, we have worked with many industry consultants and motivational speakers. They educated me, shaped my thinking, and inspired me to want to give back to those who have been in, or are starting out, in this industry.
At the beginning of 2023, we sold our company to the next generation (my nephew Josh Bahler). Seeing the company that we built over the years move into the hands of new energy, excitement and ideas has been a great experience.
My goal at this point in my career is to mentor Josh as he continues in his new role, as well as the Team and to give back to those that want to take their company to the next level…..by training through “Real Life Experiences” from starting with nothing, to growing a company, to living through a recession and then working through a buy-out of two of my brothers and a succession plan to sell to the second generation. This is all happening since all four of my brothers still play a great role in this. Another his own company as Bahler Excavation, and is a subcontractor for Bahler Brothers, another does all the Landscape lighting for Bahler Brothers and the biggest connection is to Pave Tool Innovators.
